Geological Specimens and Supplies
You will doubtless be amassing a collection of your own for practical sessions and from fieldwork. However, there are a few commercial suppliers of geological specimens at reasonable prices to fill in the gaps. Lenses, low-cost microscopes and other supplies will be worth considering as you make progress with your group.

4) Apex Microscopes and Brunel Microscopes supply excellent, inexpensive 20X binocular microscopes, ideal for groups to examine sands, crystals, minerals, small rocks and pebbles. They sell digital microscopes which are great for showing items to a few people at a time with a laptop or to a larger group using a digital projector or TV.

6) GeoEd produce a good range of fossil replicas and teaching sets.
7) Geology Superstore have a large range of equipment, books, study guides, specimens.
8) The Rock Gallery provides teaching and collectors' specimens of rocks, minerals, fossils and books. View items online. Very knowledgeable supplier.
9) Richard Tayler Minerals supply useful small specimens for teaching. Can source items such as mineral crystals and specific rock types.
